Why stokvel pledge? Stokvels are informal by nature. However, is informal as they maybe, the core reason for their existence is Trust amongst members.  Trust is or should be the glue that hold the stokvel together.  It is therefore imperative for members to make the following Pledge as a demonstration of their commitment to their stokvel.

The pledge may not guarantee that members will default, but it should serve a deterrent to blatantly break your stokvel rules.

All stokvel members need to honour the following Pledge:

1. Commitment – I fully commit myself to my stokvel until we succeed. I am committed to our stokvel vision.

2. Integrity – I speak the truth. What I promise is what I will deliver. I honour my financial obligations to my stokvel. I have ZERO tolerance for Corruption.

3. Communication – I speak positively of my fellow stokvel members, in both public and private spaces. I speak with good purpose and use empowering and positive language. I have ZERO tolerance for Pull Him/Her down syndrome.

4. Teamwork – I am a team player and team leader. I commit to do whatever it takes to stay together and achieve team goals.

5. Education – I learn from my mistakes. I am open and receptive to credible investment and savings education.
